"Marghazhi days" 🍃🙏

Winter day winds are making us shiver right. This cold wind makes us feel like we are inside a fridge. It's the month of December and the marghazhi days have started. 'Marghazhi' is the ninth month according to the Tamil calendar. This month is usually dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The early morning worship begins. 'Kolam' are structured beautifully in front of the homes and diyas are lighted to enhance the drawings brightly. Mostly Kolam are drawn using grinded rice flour or fined sand that looks white in colour. It's a part of cultural practice. Early bathings and Bajan singing can be heard in every house. One important aspect during this time is the singing of 'Tiruppavai' and 'Tiruvenppavai' that are verses dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva respectively. These verses are accompanied by ragas (tunes) and for sure played in the early morning. 


Tiruppavai is the 30 verse hymn that is penned by Andal, a passionate devotee of Lord Krishna, the eight avatar of Lord Vishnu. Andal is one among the twelve Alvars where 'The Alvars' are a group of 12 people who immensely dedicated their life to Lord Vishnu. Andal is the only female devotee among the Alvar and her father is also one among the group. Andal developed a Love towards Lord krishna and she wanted to completely submit herself to God. It's a very interesting and spiritual story and Andal was the one to compose these 30 verses of Tiruppavai in praise of God and as an act of devotion and step for showing our love to him, thank him and seek his blessings. Everyday one stanza is sung which would complete 30 days with 30 stanzas. Each has a deeper meaning and a story associated with it. One could actually feel the bhakti that Andal had through these songs. 

There is no festival that exists without offerings of sweets. There are many who tend to prepare sweets daily, offer to God and later enjoy the dessert. Each day each special sweet. 

The cold wind is filled with bhakti that gives us new energy and stays as a happy ending to the year and a blessing for us to the next year. God reminds us that he would always stay for us no matter what comes. 


To add one more important thing which is my fact, is that there is another advantage of this morning waking. That is , we get to experience this perfect timing with a perfect hot Coffee. Mornings are blissful for coffee.☕

Friends! Have you ever felt anything while waiting for your coffee? That too early in the morning. Coffee lovers would surely know the pleasantness in this beverage. My mistakes 🙂

It's not wrong to make a mistake. We learn from our mistakes. I am still trying to figure out things and during this journey i commit and committed a lot of mistakes. Some mistakes are done unintentionally, some by lack of concentration and some are done out of over confidence. But I understand that it's fine to make mistakes. These mistakes are the actual factors through which I learnt and am learning on how to plan to reach my goal. Some mistakes impacted me emotionally. Though it made me realise the lesson out of it, still the impact of it stay in my mind. I don't want to erase them because they motivate me twice compared to others and make me to think that I should work even more harder so that, I not only accomplish my task but also show that I am too capable of doing things.
