Those Golden days 🥹🥹
I read my friend's blog today where she spoke about the old age. That made me realise that years are passing on for us too and it made me think back to my olden days. People of my age group are actually in the centre line between 90s and 2K generation who have to experience both phase and work accordingly. We have to run along and accordingly, to the current generation but our interests are mostly on those old days . I think most of them would agree on this point.
When we were young we had many beautiful things around us. We never stayed indoors during holidays. Our games where carrom board, kabaddi, hide and seek and especially street cricket. I was the renowned bowler in my team. We were the kids who longed for games hour during free hours in our school and made sure that our white sport shoes are never white. Fifty paise chocolates were available at our young age and the olden days candies where also very tasty for us. We always enjoyed the times and at the same never missed the canning from our parents when we tend to commit mistakes. That's how we were brought up.
Along with these activities, one important aspect was listening to radio at times. I loved that session. Once our plates finished holding the dinners and went to wash, the night starts with listening to radio. To the every song played, the singer inside everyone of us will come out and perform. Even melody songs that are meant to make us sleep actually makes us very energetic.
Current shutdowns were also another best part especially during night times because all the members in the family would form a circle around the candle that will be placed on antique candle holder. I had this old Indian style Lantern at my home when I was young and that was used during current shutdowns. We used that time to play games with our parents and at times gossips too. And this is the time when we go upstairs to witness the moon light. The home I stayed at when I was young was near a hill that is 'Yercaud' in Salem and the pleasant wind will make us feel blissful. My Grandmother (my dad's mom) was with us whom I have already mentioned in my earlier blog, the best person in my life, never misses these time to narrate moral stories to us. I have seen my parents becoming children during this story sessions. She was a great storyteller actually.
Nowadays we never get an opportunity to spend time with our family and for ourselves. Did we forget those things or lost interest? Because even those times opportunities like these did not knock the door for parents but still they managed to enjoy with us.
Age gets older when it moves forward. Days get newer.
Note: I thank my friend for writing that topic as her blog content and I would definitely suggest you all to read that too. I am sharing the link too.
