Watching a match after a long time ππ
I like watching cricket. A team game with lots of twists and turns. I am not a very big fan of world cup matches. I remember watching this Sri Lanka vs India match and I was young at that time. I like watching IPL matches. They are short, played for twenty overs and quite interesting too. I don't know all the information on cricket but yes quite a few things I can understand in the game. I myself am a street cricketer π. I used to play when I was young. I had a group of friends who were my neighbours. We formed a team, waited for our summer vacation and once that started our match started. From 4 to 6pm it was our match timing. It's not too hot at that time and still the sun stays in the sky so it's not dark either. We divided ourselves into teams with the help of "Sha boo three" ( an auctioning strategy that we had and sometimes stay as a tool to find the outer in hide and seek game) and we didn't have coin for toss so we used "odd or even" game to choose batting or bowling. A meta game right, a game within a game. We play for six overs and one over had six balls. I was a bowler basicallyπ. It was actually very fun playing cricket. I miss that time. In the afternoon it was our match and after a cool refreshment the original IPL matches starts to be played on the TV. And at this time you won't be disturbed by anyone in the house because we were in our holidays and even our studies and homeworks won't disturb us. In fact we watched IPL matches as a family, enjoyed together when there were sixes from our favourite team and saddness when it was an out from our favourite player. My favourite was MS Dhoni who is profoundly called as "captain cool". I truly was able to witness that coolness in him even in nail biting situations. That is the spirit of a true leader. He knew what to do in situations. It was under his captainship that India won its first T20 World Cup in 2007.
And it's very obvious that I supported CSK. Yet I watched other teams too when they played. A little later , when I came to 9th class , I had studying works but still watched it whenever it was possible. But later that habit of watching cricket slowly deteriorated and finally I stopped watching it too. Today I thought I will get back to the time and witness as it was final match. And I also got to know that the IPL season is starting in the end of this month. Hopefully I get back my cricketer emotion and watch the game. It's a team game where it teaches us a lot of lessons like making strategic moves, decision making skills, leadership roles, team coordination and hardwork along with confidence, motivation, determination and never giving up strength. That's why its a fun game. It is true that sports and physical activities always teaches us a lot in our life.
Coming back to today's match, after quite a long time I watched the World cup, T20 and India emerged as victorious in the final. The match was between New Zealand and India. India chose to Bat in the first innings and set the target for New Zealand. The score was 255 and the latter had to take 256 to win the match. India, in today's match I think had a good field control which was also a reason for their victory. India won the match by a difference of 96 runs. Their strategies, hardwork and team efforts made them enjoy this moment under the captainship of Suryakumar Yadav.
