From fear to Fun: conversation with a Professor.
It's actually very interesting to talk to a professor , like having a relaxed conversation regarding guidance and career development. Sometimes we don't take that initiative. Is it because of respect or because of fear? Talking to professor is meant like not respecting them. In fact, speaking to them without any hesitation is the actual respect and trust we show that we are having on them. Therefore it is out of fear we fail to take that step.
I, personally, have a fear in approaching any teacher even for doubts. I don't know whether it is because of fear on the teacher or the fear on myself that what if I go with some insensible question or doubt. This is actually a fault to be honest. My professors often says this " you have to actually keep posting questions or doubts to the teacher because it is the job of a teacher to clarify or share the knowledge with the student". Teachers are actually like guiding lamps. They show us pathways. Having a conversation with a teacher, like an individual conversation, with doubts related to career growth, skills which can be developed or even without any topic and simply having a conversation will actually give us ample ideas which will be very motivating and helpful. I have had such conversations with my professors in UG. One such conversation I had after entering PG was with Rufus sir, a very recent one. Such a friendly, fun as well as engaging and knowledge gaining talk we had. He gave us a lot of facts, information , ideas , examples and also he kept the environment very engaging where I was able to share my skills and my doubts as well.

A conversation with a professor not only helps us to solve our questions and know a lot of facts but also helps us to identify who we are and breaks the fear that stops us from establishing a respectful, engaging, emotional and fun relationship with our teachers.
When I was posting my question about the teaching profession Rufus sir said to me that teaching is one such divine and crucial role played in a student life and that a student happily sharing the achievement with his teacher is the best reward a teacher would get. It's actually true and in simple understanding
Matha ( mother)
Pitha ( Father)
Guru ( Teacher)
Deivam ( God)
Right!!
Four important people in a person's life.
Added to this, one other interesting fact I liked in the conversation was, we were constantly changing topics. Starting from career options to nature as a beautiful creation. In every topic , sir gave us new interesting things that we get to actually experience if we have a conversation with a professor and sir said how things around us will help us find our pathway. That actually caught my attention. In the 'Nanban' movie (a remake of 3 'Idiots' movie) there is one dialogue at the end which is shown as the protagonist believing it and following it very strongly throughout. " வெற்றி பினாடி போகாத, தீராமை வளத்துக்கோ,வெற்றி தானா உன்கிட்ட வரும்". Meaning don't run behind victory, develop and work on your skills and aptitude, victory comes and falls to us.
